Avocado cheese toast is a fantastic lunch or breakfast idea. This is an avocado toast with melted mozzarella cheese as the base layer but feel free to use a different type of cheese.

Avocado Cheese Toast
Sometimes when eating a lot of avocado toast, it’s nice to add in a twist to kick things up a notch. But it doesn’t mean it has to be fancy or use wild ingredients.
Simply taking a classic favorite, cheese toast, and turning it in to an avocado cheese toast is a great way to mix things up! It’s just like it sounds: Fresh avocado spread on melted cheese and crispy bread.
At the end, sprinkle on some Everything But The Bagel seasoning if desired for some extra “oomph” in flavor and dive in.
How to Make
Spread your butter over your bread, or opt to skip the butter.
Top your bread with the mozzarella cheese, and then place in the oven or toaster oven to bake.
You want the cheese to melt and the bread to become crispy like a classic toast.
While cheese toast is baking, this is a great time to mash the avocado in a small bowl. Feel free to add in a pinch of salt, pepper, garlic powder, or other spices if desired.
Carefully remove the toast, top with freshly mashed avocado. Now enjoy this simple avocado toast and cheese recipe!
Do avocado and cheese go together?
Avocado and cheese go very well together. Not sure which cheese for avocado toast, is best? Whether you do a mozzarella cheese like I did here, or opt for a sharp cheddar. You will find it compliments each other nicely.
Also, you can even do a cream cheese, if you want an ultra-creamy avocado toast.
Is it OK to eat 1 avocado a day?
You can eat 1/2 to 1 avocado a day, if you prefer to start your morning or even a lighter lunch. Avocadoes are full of nutrients and are a great source of nutrients.
Just know avocadoes are light, so make sure to have other food to go with it for added protein.
Can I save half of my avocado?
If you don’t plan to eat all the avocado at once, you can save the other half of the avocado. Leave the avocado seed in the avocado, and then wrap well in plastic wrap and store in the fridge. Here are great tips how to to keep an avocado fresh!
The avocado seed will help prevent browning of the avocado. So if you only want to eat half your avo for this recipe, then save the rest for the next day.

Avocado Cheese Toast
Equipment
- toaster oven or oven
Ingredients
- 1 piece bread wheat, seeded, sprout or your desired type
- 1/2 tsp butter optional; spreadable butter works best
- 2 tbsp shredded mozzarella cheese or desired type of cheese
- 1/2 avocado
- pinch salt optional
- pinch pepper optional
- pinch garlic powder optional
Instructions
- If using butter, evenly spread on bread.
- Top with shredded cheese.
- Bake in toaster oven (or oven) at 350° for 8-10 minutes or until desired "toast" level.
- While cheese toast is baking, mash avocado in a small bowl. If desired, add in a pinch of salt, pepper, and/or garlic powder.
- Remove from oven and spread mashed avocado on top of toasted cheese.
- Optional: Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning
