Avocado toast is great for breakfast, but it’s also the perfect brunch, snack, or lunch item. You can serve and enjoy avocado toast at any time of the day!

Ingredients
- 1 small avocado or 1/2 of large (garlic, salt, pepper)
- 1/8 cup ricotta
- 1 piece of bread
- fresh lemon juice, from 1/4 lemon (to taste)
- hot honey or regular honey
- everything bagel seasoning
- flake sea salt (optional)
- lemon zest (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Spread ricotta cheese evenly on the toast.
Step 2: Mash avocado with lemon juice in a small bowl.
Step 3: Add mashed avocado on top of the ricotta cheese.
Step 4: Add honey and everything bagel seasoning.
Step 5: Add salt, pepper, and/or lemon zest if desired.
Hint: If you don’t have fresh lemon juice, you can use prepackaged lemon juice or lime juice. Not only does lemon/lime juice add flavor, but it also helps prevent the avocado from browning!
Additional Toppings
There are a few extra ways that you can add more flavor/texture to this avocado toast! Here are my favorite ways to spice up this recipe.
- Eggs – Feel free to add scrambled eggs, over easy eggs, or eggs of your choice to this avocado ricotta toast.
- Tomatoes– Top this ricotta toast with sautéd cherry tomatoes! Cherry tomatoes add so much flavor and they taste amazing with ricotta!

Can you prepare avocado toast in advance?
You can prepare avocado toast in advance to an extent. Avocado browns very quickly in the fridge so it’s best to only prepare the mashed avocado the night night. If you prepare the toast the night before, it will get soggy. Although prepping your avocado the night before works fine, I recommend making everything fresh.
