Ingredients needed for avocado toast with arugula
1 slice bread
You can use any type of bread you’d like. Sourdough is my favorite but wheat, white, rye, whole grain, etc. all work great.
1/2 avocado
Avocados are loaded with healthy fats that will help keep you full and satisfy your hungry cravings. Not to mention they have an amazing texture and flavor.
1 radish
Radishes are crispy and zesty with a hint of spice. They pair great with avocados and have many health benefits.
Salt and pepper if desired
I like to top my avocado toast with salt and pepper but this is optional.
Instructions:
Step 1: Toast slice of bread
Step 2: Mash 1/2 avocado and add salt and pepper if desired
Step 3: Spread mashed avocado over toasted bread
Step 4: Chop radish into thin slices and top on toast.
Step 5: Add more salt and pepper if desired.
Additional Toppings:
Everything bagel seasoning: If you’re anything like me, you LOVE everything bagel seasoning. It pairs so well with avocados and also tastes great with veggies. If you’d like, throw some everything bagel seasoning on top of your radish avocado toast.
Feta cheese: Almost everything tastes better when it’s topped with cheese. Feta cheese goes great with avocados and it’s a great way to balance out the spiciness of the radish.
Garlic powder: Garlic powder is a pantry staple spice that adds so much flavor. Feel free to add some garlic powder to this avocado toast recipe.
Dietary substitutions:
Gluten Free: To make this radish toast recipe gluten free, you can simply use gluten free bread.
Keto/Low-Carb: If you’re someone who is on a keto or low-carb diet, you can substitute traditional bread for low-carb bread. Low-carb bread can be found in the health section of most grocery stores.
How to cut radishes
Radishes can be tricky to cut the first time around but it’s very easy to get the hang of. Using a sharp knife, cut the ends off of the radish. From there, slice in the same direction as the cut-off ends. You should end up with thin circles.
